Private Proxy OpenI can’t even remember how many times I’ve been asked by both friends and strangers if it’s a good idea to use a proxy server.  The answer I always give is “Yes!!!”

Whenever I travel, I usually drive, so that means when I’m on the road, I’m usually working.  If I stop at Panera for a quick snack or if I’m staying in a motel over-night, I bring my laptop in so I can get things done.  Because of this, I’m relying on public Wi-Fi during my trips.  With all the talk of identity theft and hackers, I always wondered if someone sitting at the next table or staying in the next room was a hacker.  I tried to be cautious, but the worry was still there until I discovered Private Proxy.   Now, I can go anywhere and work on the Internet without worrying about my privacy.  Yes, there are free proxies available, but I was always told that you get what you pay for and some of those free proxies aren’t run by very scrupulous people.  These people can, and sometimes do, monitor the information being sent out and will use it against you.  Another thing to consider is that since the proxies are free, they are public and anyone can use them (just like public Wi-Fi).  No information you send out is encrypted.  With Private Proxy, I’m assured of an unmonitored, encrypted connection at all times.  This way, I feel much safer knowing that no one can read my personal information.

I also like that no one can figure out if I’m home or on the road.  Since Private Proxy gives me a choice of many rotating and static connections in the US, Canada and the Netherlands, I can be “seen” as being in the States even when I’m over-seas.  It also works to my advantage in the opposite way.  If a friend invites me to her child’s birthday party and I have had enough of ball pits and clowns for the year, I can choose one of the proxy servers on the other side of the country so it looks like I’m traveling.  Not that I don’t like my friends, their kids or their parties, but there is only so much of the bad magic tricks and silly string one person can handle!

Craig’s List Tips

August 24th, 2012

A lot of times, we get a question like this:  “If I use your software, will it help me with Craig’s List regarding my ads being blocked?”  This is one question that there isn’t a “yes” or “no” answer for.  Some customers tell us that our software has helped them with this problem, but others tell us that it does not.  Sadly, I don’t have any answers as to why the software works for some, but not others, but I can give some tips our customers have shared with me.  Perhaps these tips will help you to overcome this issue.

Before I go on, please let me request that if you are a client of ours, don’t get too eager and post a huge amount of ads.  This will not only get you banned, but it will also get our IP addresses banned.  If our IP addresses get banned, it won’t be good for anyone.

Now, here are the tips:

  • In between each ad you post, make sure you delete your cookies.  A really good browser to use is Firefox because it has a setting that deletes your cookies each time you close your browser.  Additionally, when you use our software and change to a different server, Firefox will close, so your cookies will be removed.

We at Privacy Partners receive many comments and suggestions via e-mail every day.   We strive to answer all e-mails, however, every now and then a comment will leave us “speechless”.

Below is an e-mail sent to our support e-mail address.   This e-mail has us stumped as to how to respond:

“Scum like Bill Gates are the reason that you need anonymous surfing to begin with.  Not to mention that PCs a nothing but a junk computer.

Perhaps you should consider making a Mac version of your product for those of us not stupid enough to buy a PC…”

This is the e-mail in its entirety.  I’m not sure if this person finished his thought or if he had more to add but submitted the unfinished comment in error.  Whatever the case is, I have a proposal for all of our clients and anyone thinking about becoming a client:

We are offering one FREE month of Private Proxy to the person who sends us the best response to this comment.

The only restrictions of this contest are that your answers must be suitable for children who might read this page and you must own a PC.  Just post your answers in “Comments” to this blog post; we will notify the winner via e-mail and post the winning response on the blog.  Contest ends August 30, 2012, so let the responses begin!

A few weeks ago, one of our clients ran into a problem:  his subscription to Private Proxy had just ended.  Normally, this wouldn’t be an issue.  Private Proxy offers each client the option to have the subscription automatically renewed using the credit card information on file.  This, however, was a special case; the client was a soldier currently serving in Afghanistan.  With so many other more important issues on his mind, he didn’t think to update the expiration date on his credit card.  Consequently, the payment request was denied.

When the soldier was made aware of this problem, he tried accessing the Private Proxy site to update the information.  Unfortunately, because he was in Afghanistan, and no longer had a subscription to Private Proxy and our servers, he could not access the site.  He also no longer had access to other important sites, such as his on-line banking, home newscasts, American television, etc.

If the soldier would have been able to personally contact us to explain the situation, his subscription would have been renewed on the spot.  However, in this case, it took a while, but he finally was able to get in contact with a friend in the United States.  The friend called us on his behalf and updated the information.  The soldier’s subscription to Private Proxy is now renewed, and he can once again enjoy the Internet freedom that he’s gotten used to

My Private Proxy Benefits

August 5th, 2011

I am not well versed about the technicalities behind Private Proxy server, but I am thankful that it is here. I am a new Private Proxy server user, and am happy that I am getting its full benefits. My readings on the internet brought me to at least four benefits that I personally enjoy right now. Because of this, I do not have to worry about being blocked from accessing important websites.

Before I knew about this technology, I used to just leave my “footprints” anywhere. This probably made me the target of some people who meant harm, or wanted to steal my identity. But now, with Private Proxy, they cannot identify who I am. I learned that some proxy servers cannot totally hide you from prying eyes. Unscrupulous people can simply use an IP tracking software and they can identify you. Thanks to Private Proxy, my computer becomes untraceable because it is hidden from them.

I experience faster speed whenever I use Private Proxy. Instead of wasting my time waiting for the page to load, I can maximize the use of my time getting on with my purpose. There was a significant difference in speed even when attaching large files to emails, which is something that I always do. Further, I used to get frustrated when suddenly the connection got terminated. I lost so much data and there was so much wasted time. With the help of Private Proxy, I am assured of a fast and reliable connection.

What would you do if you couldn’t go online every day?  You use the computer every day for your job, to connect with your friends and family, and to shop.  In spite of how necessary the Internet has become to our lives most people don’t realize that they are leaving their personal information unprotected.  Using a proxy server is an important way to ensure that your computer is secure.  You can keep your surfing history and laptop safe from those who really want to get that information.  But how do you pick the right proxy software?  Arm yourself with some basic information before you shop for this amazing tool.

Computer security is so much more than checking your laptop for viruses every week.  If that’s all you are doing then you have left yourself vulnerable.  The bad guys can install malware on your computer and track your every click as you surf the Internet.  If you do a lot of shopping and banking online then you are particularly vulnerable.  But it’s not just criminals that you need to be wary of.  A lot of marketing companies are competing to acquire and sell your information to advertisers.  You’ll stop them before they start by using a proxy server.

Using a public wireless Internet service is a fact of life when you travel for business.  But no matter how or where you connect to the Internet privacy and safety should be among your biggest concerns.  Connecting through a proxy server makes a lot of sense when using public WIFI networks.  And when you use your work laptop this kind of protection becomes vitally important.  You’ll be able to safely get your work done and protect your personal Internet activities too.

Chances are that you have had to access the Internet in public when trying to conduct business while traveling for your job. Whether you’re trying to work from a convention center, the airplane or a coffee shop you need to know that your computer is as safe as possible.  It is all too easy to expose your company’s servers to malevolent forces when connecting to the Internet in public.  One quick fix for this problem is to use a proxy server.  You can keep close tabs on your important accounts and clients, attend virtual meetings and work on your quarterly budget knowing that your computer is safe.  Taking that easy step before you leave the office will make a huge difference.

Sometimes you might have to go to a country that cracks down on their citizen’s Internet use and the sites people can visit.  You can easily get around those firewalls to stay connected to your family and the home office.   A proxy server is the perfect tool for situations just like this.  Visit whatever sites you want and get all your business done without worrying about who is watching your every click.  Keeping up with current events can be difficult in these countries since they tend to block news sites.  A proxy server allows you to keep up with the market, read industry journals and your hometown paper as well.

When traveling, you probably do more than just work-related business on your company laptop.  Using a proxy server helps keep your personal Internet history private.  You don’t need to change your surfing habits just because you aren’t at home.  You can update your social media sites, send and receive personal emails and manage your fantasy sports teams knowing that no one else knows what you’re up to.  You can keep your private life just that, private.

Using a proxy server is a common-sense move when using the company laptop while away on business.  So often you have to use public WIFI networks to access the Internet.   These are notoriously risky to use and your company’s servers are at risk every time you log on.  You can do all your work worry-free when you use a proxy server.  You can easily break through firewalls in countries that heavily censor Internet use.  Even better, you can hide your personal Internet history from your employer as well as the criminals out there trying to get at your private information.  Your personal surfing history remains safely hidden from everyone when you use a proxy server.

Terrorism has always been a big concern of the United States, and the main job of the most powerful person in the world, our president, has been to try and counter it. While many people are not worried about terrorism or the threats it brings to the American people, the government has always been concerned with this matter and done the up most to try and prevent it. There are many safeguards and agreements in place; even though many countries and nations hate the United States out of religious and cultural differences or perhaps just a strong feeling of envy, we have successfully been able to negotiate many cease fires between enemy nations. No matter how strong our diplomatic skills are though, there will always be some countries that are inconsolable and will try and attack us no matter what.

We were able to fend them off for some time, and did so quite well. It wasn’t until the 911 attacks that we faltered. These terrorist attacks jaded our nation and knocked down our confidence. It was similar to the Titanic; the impossible and the impenetrable was broken down. America seemed like a huge fortress, but some ramshackle terrorists were able to infiltrate it and deal us some swift damage. This woke the government up, and made them protect America even more diligently, and think of many new ways to do so.

Proxies at Work and School

August 1st, 2009

When one is at work, the Internet can be quite a useful place. You can research up and coming products, view videos and tutorials on how t use them, and even keep a watchful eye on the competition so they don’t get a leg-up on you.  This would be a great reality, but the truth is, it isn’t like this.

The Internet, for all of its greatness, can be a very distracting place. While many workers use it for productive reasons, some just lollygag all day on it, and create a large loss of productivity among their company. It is for these workers sake that the Internet at work is usually highly restricted and censored. The same goes for school; if a paid worker is slacking off, imagine the apathy an unpaid student involuntarily put in a boring class feels!

This is why many sites are blocked while you are trying to surf them. Every worker has had some downtime, and bored, they try and log onto YouTube and gotten the “this site has been blocked” message. The company IT department usually is the one who arranges and sets up all of these blocks. They do so by finding keywords that they wish to block, and anything with them usually is. “Games”, “Videos”, “Fun”, and “Social” are some stock examples of what they block.

Military Proxies

June 23rd, 2009

American’s military is the glue that holds the nation together. National security is on every U.S. citizens’ mind, and this is only magnified in these turbulent times. These freedom fighters would give everything to help their country, and do so every day.

Though they may seem almost inhuman with their selflessness, these are just ordinary people. They love family, freedom, and happiness just as much as anyone else. While traveling or being stationed internationally, some military members can get homesick. This is perfectly normal, and happens to some when leaving on a leisurely vacation. Imagine the anguish of having to leave your country, and go off to some faraway land to fight!

Watching some familiar American T.V. is a great way to stay in touch with old Uncle Sam. Unfortunately, a man can‘t exist on “I Love Lucy” alone, and must supplement their viewing diet.

Internet T.V. to the rescue! Imagine the joy of a lonely soldier when he or she could access an entire cultural reservoir of familiarity. They could just catch up on the affairs back home, or maybe just see who J-Lo is marrying this week. Alas, it was too good to be true.
