I’m a bit ambivalent about this web cam technology. It seems kind of weird and that people will spend even more time secluded on the internet talking to their friends, than meeting in real life with them. I can just see it now; a pallid kid emerges from his bedroom cave and his mom asks him what he did all day; hung out with his friends he replies. The mom is baffled when her son didn’t even leave the house. This a strange concept to grasp, but it happens more and more every day on these esteemed social networking sites. You gotta be careful with these web cams though, as they can be quite dangerous if they aren’t secured and installed properly. I’ve heard many stories and actually know of personal friends that have had their web cam hacked. Similar to the story of the people being watched in their kitchen, my friends were watched in their office, and the hacker was able to see their calender, and broke into the house when they were gone. I use an anonymous proxy to get by all of this; my high bit encryption services stop anyone from trying to hack into my system
